Yes, applicants can receive the Investment Tax Credit (ITC) in conjunction with REAP funding, as long as the total financial assistance does not exceed 100% of the project costs.
Eligible projects include renewable energy systems (such as solar, wind, biomass, geothermal, and hydroelectric systems) and energy efficiency improvements (such as upgrading heating, cooling, insulation, and lighting).
REAP funds cannot be used for residential projects, agricultural tillage equipment, used equipment, vehicles, or planning and feasibility studies.
REAP applicants are typically contacted 5-6 months after the most recent deadline regarding whether their project has received a grant (this can differ by state). The amount of time it takes is based on how many applications your state USDA office receives. Once an applicant receives a REAP Grant, they have up to two years to complete their project.
